Three wise men set out at night
Stirred by a star unknown and bright
Its glory was shining down
Guiding their way to my hometown
They’ve come to see the newborn king
In his and their honour we shall sing
Barefoot in our borrowed gowns
Standing in front of my hometown
And so for them we sing up high!
And so for them we sing up high!!
And though at first the new king cries
He turns to me and smiles
Now we shall feast though we’ve no crowns
Gifted with food for our sweet sound
With starlight still shining down
Glory tonight on my hometown
Glory tonight on my hometown
“The singing is gorgeous (gave me goosebumps) and the song is lovely. Can't wait to play it!” - Robyn Guy, Hobart FM
“I was reading that one or two people who’ve heard this had tears in their eyes and I tell you what, I did too. It’s very emotional.” - Leigh Drew, Casey Radio 97.7FM
My Hometown is receiving radio airplay across Australia. It was played by Macca on ABC's Australia All Over show and is on community stations throughout the nation. Check out Finn's radio interview: Casey Radio 97.7FM interview
Finn Twist has always been mesmerised by the power of music to tell stories, and never really paid much attention to lyrics. He focused on making mostly instrumental music, some of which has been used by The Emmy Awards, The Boston Globe, The Discovery channel and others.
Determined to become a true songwriter, Finn has worked hard on his lyric writing, and finally feels brave enough to present his latest effort, My Hometown, the Nativity story told through the eyes of a poor child of Bethlehem, wonderfully performed by Sydney Boys' Choir.
Adam Mitchell, whose songs have been recorded by industry luminaries such as Johnny Cash, Art Garfunkel, Merle Haggard and many more, says of My Hometown, "Fabulous! Absolutely fabulous."
